What is it?
Rejuran is a polynucleotide treatment. In plain words, it helps damaged skin repair itself: it calms inflammation, strengthens thin skin and improves the way the surface holds together.
It is the treatment we reach for when skin is reactive, thin or irritated, and when something stronger would only make matters worse. Many people start here before moving on to anything else.

Good to know
Small raised bumps are normal immediately afterwards and settle within a day. A course is common, spaced a few weeks apart, and it works quietly rather than dramatically.

What we use
Rejuran, a polynucleotide preparation derived from salmon DNA.
What is normal afterwards
- Raised bumps at each injection point, which usually flatten within one to three days.
- Redness, swelling and tenderness on the day.
- Bruising, particularly under the eyes.
- It stings more than most injectables. Numbing cream is used.
Less common risks
- Bumps that take longer than three days to settle.
- Infection at an injection point.
- An allergic reaction, which is uncommon but is the reason the salmon question below is asked.
Tell us, or wait, if any of these apply
- You are allergic to fish or seafood, salmon in particular. Rejuran is derived from salmon DNA, so tell us before you book.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- There is active infection or inflamed skin in the area.
- You form keloid scars easily.
- You have an active autoimmune condition.
Before your appointment
- Tell us about any fish or seafood allergy. This one is not optional.
- Avoid blood thinners where your own doctor agrees, and alcohol for 24 hours.
- Allow extra time. Numbing cream needs about 30 minutes.
Afterwards
- Keep the area clean and do not apply make up for the rest of the day.
- No sauna, steam or strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
- Sunscreen daily.
- A course is usually three to four sessions a few weeks apart. One session is not the finished result.
Call us straight away if
- Hives, wheeze, or swelling of the lips, tongue or throat. Treat this as an emergency.
- Fever, or redness spreading from the area.
- A bump that becomes hot, hard or increasingly painful.
